Meet the New 8U Reds Coach: Braxton Carrigan

A teacher, mentor, and lifelong baseball mind joins CYB to lead our youngest travel squad.

Cheshire Youth Baseball | 8U Reds Update

Coach Braxton Carrigan is the proud father of 10-year-old Anna Reese and 7-year-old Jackson. Professionally he is a math teacher and has been playing, coaching, and umpiring baseball for well over 30 years. Passing on the love of baseball and giving kids a joyful youth is a passion of his, so he is looking forward to this next adventure. #GoReds

What Families Can Expect

The 8U Reds focus on skill building, teamwork, and having fun while learning competitive baseball the right way. Players will learn fundamentals, game awareness, and how to compete with sportsmanship.

  • Age-appropriate drills that make practice engaging
  • Teaching the game within a supportive team culture
  • Foundational work that prepares athletes for older Reds teams

About the Cheshire Reds

The Reds are the travel baseball program of Cheshire Youth Baseball and Softball. The program is open to Cheshire residents or students attending school in town and fields teams from 8U up through the older age groups. The Reds call McNamara Field home and compete in reputable Connecticut travel leagues and tournaments. Families can expect a competitive environment that still prioritizes player development, teamwork, and enjoyment of the game.
